GIMP n00b need help!

Postby devilkitty1992 on Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:48 pm

I just downloaded GIMP and I would like to learn how to work it.
I am so lost.
I usually use Corell Photo-Paint 8.
I want to make my own coats for the Black Pearl on Howrse.
Help?
Can anyone give me step-by-step help or known of any good howrse coat tutorials or felle tutorials for GIMP?

Umm...gimp is kinda confusing to use, I just figured it out enough to do coats today. So you open your page up, you have the base and have a layer over it, then you just add colors to the base, and add layers when you're happy with the previous layer. You can use the paint brush tools, the little finger to rub it together, the little rain drop thingy to blur it, the burn tool is good if you want to add little spots, like maybe for a roan or dapple gray or something. Just play around with it and see what you like
